Rove, Plame, Wilson, Bush

So I said that TalkDriving.com would be about driving mostly, but that the talk would be driven by anything under the sun. So proves the point... was reading about how Bush was really sticking to his guns about waiting for the results of the Rove/Plame disclosure investigation before making a decision on Rove's future. Bush said people shouldn't "jump to conclusions" about Rove before the investigation is complete.

Seems to me that there really isn't much room to jump to conclusions. It's pretty clear... Rove admitted to disclosing that Wilson's wife was a CIA agent and that she authorized Wilson's trip to investigate the Niger WMD connection as part of her job. Whether or not Rove knew she was covert or not or that he was "knowingly" disclosing a covert identity is irrelevant. Rove did reveal sensitive information. Not knowing the "status" of the information when he disclosed it should have given him pause especially considering the subject matter. It didn't and that raises questions for me on Rove's judgement, especially since he's in such as sensitive post. Who knows what other information he has inadvertantly shared.

SCCA! New Member

Well, I reveived my membership kit for the Sports Car Club of America. I was watching SPEED channel and saw an SCCA race that I thought was awesome. It was a GT race going around a course that seemed challenging... many curves and a large 50-car field, but the speeds were not the crazy 200+ mph of a F1 race or even the 180+ of NASCAR. 90 mph seems like the average and there was a lot of turning and braking involved.... my kind of challenigng driving without all the unpredictability of WRC racing.

Anyway, I'm not quite ready to do any racing as it requires a car and a lot of money to support. Sponsors would be a first step but no before going to some races and learning a bit as an observer in the pits or behind the scnes.

Here's to new experiences!

Welcome to Talk Driving!

This is a great day! My first official entry on this site is here, so consider this site open for discussion. I hope that everyone finds the thoughts here compelling, thought-provoking and, at the very least, worth the time it takes to type in the Web address. Cheers!
